Famara massif is the largest of the island of Lanzarote.
Located north of the island, including the municipalities of Teguise and Haria with a length of 23 km. and is of volcanic origin. The highest point of the massif of the island is the Peñas del Chache, with 670 m. altitude. On the west side is a cliff above the beach at Famara and the Atlantic Ocean. Farther north is the Mirador del Rio by the artist Cesar Manrique, where you can see the island of La Graciosa and the Archipelago Chinijo. Famara Crags host a Special Protection Area for Birds.
